Ed Seghers passed away at his home at the age of 75. Ed was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Edward J. and Mildred Seghers. He graduated from Laboure High School and St. Louis University, working briefly for McDonnell Douglas before being drafted into the U.S. Army. While stationed in Alaska he met Carolyn Crider, his wife of 48 years. After the army, Ed relocated to California to begin his 30-year career in information technology with Chevron. He moved to Concord in 1971, where he and Carolyn raised their three daughters, Jennifer, Christine, and Jessica. Following his retirement, Ed became active in local politics, regularly attending and speaking at Concord City Council meetings and serving for a time on the Commission on Aging.

Family and Friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Concord at Noon on March 1st, as well as a reception at the church following the service. Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Lafayette will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Contra Costa Interfaith Council, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, or St. Agnes Church.
