William D. DeWitt

William “Bill” DeWitt passed away peacefully on August 18, 2021. He was born March 16, 1937 in Cheyenne, WY to parents Jamie and Attena DeWitt. Bill attended Mt. Diablo High School, class of 1955. He graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor’s of Science and a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity. A resident of Concord for 78 years, Bill was a member of The Mt. Diablo Sports Hall of Fame, Concord Historical Society and served as Noble Grand Arch of the of the state of California from 2013-2014. He was a parishioner of the First Presbyterian Church of Concord. Bill retired from Kaiser Aluminum after 21 years and KLS Logistics after 13 years. Bill enjoyed fishing, bocce ball, bowling, camping, woodworking, coaching his daughter’s softball team and son’s soccer team. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend that will be dearly missed by all whom knew and loved him.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Charlotte; son, Chris DeWitt and his wife Lisa; grandson, Zachary Kiker; son-in-law, Scott Kiker; sister-in-law, Karen Urlich and her husband Ed; sister-in-law, Emajean DeWitt. He is preceded by his parents, daughter, Cynthia and brother, David.
