It is with great sorrow that I inform you of the death of my husband, Bill. He was a kind, sweet and loving man.
A native from Maryland, William Edward Bungard, known as “Bill” was born the first child to George and Frances Bungard on February 16, 1947, as his sister Helen joined the family two years later.
When Bill's family moved to Oakland, he graduated from Castlemont High School. Bill worked many jobs, finally becoming a purchasing agent for Dole Pineapple, and also ran the travel program for the Concord Senior Citizens Center.
In 1995 Bill married Diane Lorenzetti and developed a great love for cruising, especially Italy. They also frequently traveled with their silver van and their four legged child “Lulu." The Van became known as the “widow wagon” because all their ladies friends who would travel along with them.
Bill belonged to the Druids of California, becoming Grand Chief Knight of the Grand Chapter 1977-78, followed by the becoming Noble Grand Arch of the state in 1982-83, and for 30 years was also the Grand Recorder of the Grand Chapter.
He is survived by his wife Diane, sister Helen of Maryland, niece Sherry and nephew Tom of Maryland, and by several grand nieces and nephews of California. Bill's parent's preceded him in death.
A Druidic Memorial Service will be held on Sat. Dec. 1st at 12:00 pm (noon) at Concord Elks Lodge. Please remember him as a kind and gentle man, who had a genuine desire to be of service to others.
