Tribute

Our dear mother, Virginia, passed away at age 94 in her home, where she resided for 50 years.

Virginia was born in Sandy, Utah and moved to Pittsburgh, CA as a young girl with her parents Irene and Orrin Boggess and her brother Orrin. 

After graduating from Pittsburgh High she worked for Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Co. as a telephone operator. 

Virginia met her “handsome husband“ Lonnie Clinkenbeard, they married on July 7, 1949.

Virginia and Lonnie worked together in the dairy industry for many years.  They raised three daughters. 

Virginia and Lonnie shared 48 years together until Lonnie’s passing in 1997. 

Virginia loved her family and friends and her home.  She was a creative seamstress, sewing her own clothes and her daughters’ dresses. 

Being an excellent gourmet cook, nobody left her home hungry.   She mostly enjoyed being at home in her yard gardening and tending to her flowers and vegetables.

Preceded in death by her husband Lonnie, parents Irene and Orrin Boggess. Brother Orrin Boggess, chosen sister Vivien Bruno.  And her precious little poodle Ms. Ollie. Survived by her daughters Lonette Rincon Cox (Jimmy), Linda Valla (Art), and Kathy Shaw.

Grandsons Lonnie James Rincon, Charles Shaw Jr., Jeffery Shaw (Danni), Shana Beal (Brandon), Arthur Valla III, Kevin Valla and Paul Valla.

Great-Grandson Dominic Shaw and Great-Granddaughters Talia and Sienna Beal.

She was Grandma and Auntie to many who loved her including her extended family in Oklahoma.  She will be greatly missed and always have that special place in our hearts.

A celebration of life will be held at Ouimet Chapel in Concord on July 7, 2021.  Viewing from 10:00am to 11:00 then a Celebration of Life Service 11:00-1:00 followed by a procession to mom’s final resting place in Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Alzheimer’s Association for further Research would be appreciated by the family.
