Ted Gus Bogios

Theodore (Ted) G. Bogios was born in San Francisco, California. He graduated from Balboa High School, and was recruited by San Jose State University. Ted competed nationally in Gymnastics in 1958 and 1960, winning the title of All American Gymnast both years. In 1966, Ted earned his Master's from SJSU. Ted spent his whole, 40+ year career as a physical education teacher and coach at Ygnacio Valley High School in Concord. Ted also served in the United States Coast Guard. Ted always enjoyed tennis, swimming, running and loved to travel. Ted and his two older brothers, James and Chris, were born to Greek immigrant parents, Gust and Alexandra Bogios. The three brothers always had a close friendship throughout their lives. Ted leaves behind his longtime significant other, Janice, as well as two nieces, Diamond and Denise; four nephews, Dean, Gus, Chris and Jim; and a cousin, Ted S. Pitsaros. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 1955 Kirker Pass Rd, Concord on May 18th at 11 AM followed by Interment at Oakmont Memorial Park, 2099 Reliez Valley Rd, Lafayette at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Demetrios Greek Church are appreciated.
