Stephen Tung Chu Shang

June 6, 1930 ~ May 7, 2021 (age 90)

Tribute

Stephen Shang is an unassuming man who had lived a remarkable life.  Born in China, he lived through the Japanese occupation and then fled to Taiwan with his junior high school.  Forcefully conscripted into the army, he never the less strived to enrich himself through self study.  He was able to become an officer and then eventually tested into the number one university in Taiwan.  His passion for learning and education led him to earn 2 masters degree in various areas of education in Missouri State University, and he devoted his career to be a teacher and counselor for his students.  Later he immigrated back to the United States to provide a better educational environment for his child Praise.  Through all of his life challenges, he has relied on his faith in God and Jesus Christ, and he shared his faith with his family.   He has been a loving father and husband who demonstrated the best values of honesty, honor, and self sacrifice.

He is survived by his loving wife Esther and his child Praise.
