Ryan Andrew Sullivan

Ryan Andrew Sullivan, 39, died March 31, 2018 due to complications from hernia surgery. Ryan was born March 9, 1979 in Walnut Creek, CA to Roy and Janis Sullivan, older twin to Shaun Allan Sullivan. He grew up in Concord attending Mountain View Elementary, El Dorado Middle School, and Concord High School where he was in Jazz and Marching Bands. He graduated in 1997. Ryan worked at Longs where he managed the Photo Department which taught him photo developing. He went on to work in the medical supply field for many years, which was where he met his best friend and running mate Jeremy Thompson. At the time of his passing, Ryan was working at Lowes in Concord. Ryan was a man of many interests, including photography, where he would drive almost anywhere to take pictures of new and old places. A very creative man, he came up with the most unique costumes for special occasions. Pickling vegetables was his forte and he even taught others. Ryan was a jokester and had the greatest laugh. He was also a compassionate man. He would always add something humorous or heartwarming to every birthday or holiday card he gave. He helped raise his nephew Jeremy, imparting his great sense of humor, and love of music, to the young man. Ryan played the Bass Guitar, and would have ‘troops ready on Boom Beach’. He was a big-time S. F. Giants and 49ers fan. He was a voracious reader and could speak on any issue. As his twin brother would say, “Ryan’s eyes held a thousand words that could never be expressed out loud”. In our eyes he was a true Renaissance Man!
Ryan is survived by his parents Roy and Janis Sullivan, twin brother- Shaun (Sueanna) Sullivan, sister- Jennifer (Mike Thiffault) Sullivan, nephew-Jeremy Sullivan, niece-Abigail Thiffault, aunts-Gail Watson, Carol (Larry) Herderich, Jo (Jim) Baugh and Hope (Alan) Rodgers, grandfather-William L. Young, best friends Jeremy Thompson and Melanie Flood, and his four legged best buddy, Copper.
Viewing and sharing memories of Ryan will be Sunday April 8, 2018 commencing at 2pm until 4pm at Ouimet Bros, 4125 Clayton Rd, Concord, CA 94521. Ryan will be laid to rest at a later date.
