Kelly McLean

March 10, 1951 ~ December 29, 2021 (age 70) 70 Years Old

Tribute

Robert “Kelly” McLean, 70, of Roseville, CA, passed away on December 29, 2021, after a long history of heart disease.  Kelly was born on March 10, 1951, and was raised by his parents, Len and Lorraine Bassignani, in Pinole, CA along with his younger brothers, Mitch and Brett. He graduated from Pinole Valley High School in 1969 and joined the Army National Guard in 1971.

Kelly shared his life with his wife of 47 years, Sherry McLean, and their two daughters, Kelley and Kasey. He was known for being a workacholic, a generous guy who was willing to help anyone in need, his infectious smile, and above all, being a family man. He loved his wife and daughters more than anything.

He knew from a young age that he wanted to be the Boss. He opened his first business, Kelly’s Moving and Storage in the late ’70s. For the next 40 plus years, he went on to own several businesses including two successful moving companies. The highlight of his career was dreaming up, and bringing to fruition, Featherbed Railroad Company, otherwise known as “The Cabooses.”  This business venture he embarked on with his wife, his parents, and brothers created lasting memories for not only his family and friends but to all who stayed there.

His next venture at the age of 58, was when he and Sherry purchased ServPro of Fairfield, a water/fire restoration franchise that they owned for 10 years. This new career path led them to achieve Business of the Year in 2017 from the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce and many Servpro accolades, including Top 100 in 2017.

Kelly is preceded in death by his parents, Len and Lorraine Bassignani. He is survived by his wife, Sherry McLean; his brothers, Mitch Bassignani (Amy) and Brett Bassignani (Danielle); his children, Kelley Fierner (Ryan) and Kasey Forest (Matt); and grandchildren, Ashton, Addisyn, Jack, Max and Luke.
