Marion Roberta Cetnar died on October 5, 2023 in Martinez, CA, due to complications of vascular dementia. The oldest daughter of Flora and Solomon King, she was born on October 11, 1939 in Everett, MA. Marion was raised in Revere, MA with her 3 siblings. She attended church in Revere where she sang her favorite hymns in the choir, and later was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church in Concord, CA.
She started working at a young age to help support her mother and younger sister. In 1963 she moved with her husband, oldest son, mother, and sister to Oakland, CA. She lived in Concord, Clayton, and her final home was in Martinez, CA with her husband Floyd.
She was a bookkeeper by trade for almost 60 years, with time off to raise her four children. She was a valued employee for several companies including Veterinary Surgical Assoc. (SAGE) and lastly Hope Center Covenant Church, her church home.
During most of her 60 years living in California, she was an avid gardener who loved to travel almost as much as she loved to plan and chronicle her trips and life with her family. She created over 100 photo albums of her family's memories. One of her family's final remembrances will be of her at her oldest grandson's wedding.
She is survived by her dedicated husband of 36 years Floyd Cetnar. Her four children: Charles Vitale (Concord, CA), Richard (Suzy) Vitale (Silver Spring, MD), Cathy (Charles) Lackore (Concord, CA), and Robin Vitale (Martinez, CA). She is also survived by her 3 beloved grandsons James (Krista) Lackore, John Lackore, and Joseph Lackore; her sister Marge Morris (Hayden, ID); and several nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother Flora and father Solomon; brother Walter King of Jaffery, NH, and Alan King of Sarasota, FL.
Her family is thankful to God for her presence in their lives and rejoices that she is now with her Lord and Savior, free of the pain of her illness.
The funeral service and viewing will be held on Saturday, November 11 at 10 am at Ouimet Bros. Concord Funeral Chapel, 4125 Clayton Road, Concord. A reception will follow at Hope Center Covenant Church in Pleasant Hill.
