Lynn Mac McElravy was born in Pennsylvania on 10/25/32 and moved to California as a young man. He passed away at his Concord residence on 10/18/18 surrounded by family. Active in law enforcement his entire life, Mac spent time working for the Kensington Police Dept. before joining the California Highway Patrol in 1964. He retired from the CHP after 22 years of service and began to work for the Contra Costa County Sheriffs Dept as a Mutual Aid Coordinator. This job suited his easy demeanor and wonderful way with people, as did his job teaching at the police academy at Los Medanos. Mac is predeceased by his parents, sister Kay and wife Shirley. He is survived by Scott and Diana Lehtinen (son and daughter), Jodi Couick (daughter), Rick Couick (son), Jonathan LaField and Landon Felton (grandsons). He is also survived by a number of nieces and a nephew. Mac loved the outdoors and adventure, as shown by his time spent flying a Cessna, cruising the delta in his boat or golfing. He also loved military history and did a tour in the US Navy during the Korean War.
Join us in celebrating his life at the place he most loved, the golf course. Memorial service and reception will be held on November 9 at 6 pm at the Greenery Restaurant, 1551 Marchbanks Drive, Walnut Creek. Please RSVP via email at dcouick@yahoo.com.
