Louise DeBenedetti Lehmkuhl passed away peacefully on November 5, 2018 at the age of 93 years.
Born and raised in Oakland, she attended Oakland Tech High School. As an independent young woman, she enjoyed a successful 20+ year career with Kaiser. She and her husband Ernie made a warm and welcoming home in Concord where she valued longtime friendships with her neighbors. She loved her family and friends, dancing, and long walks. She was an accomplished cook and seamstress (and a snappy dresser). She was a member of the Madonna Della Guardia Society, attended St. Bonaventure Church, and in her later years enjoyed playing cards with her card group.
Louise was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She is survived by her niece Diane (Luigi) Delucchi, her nephews Robert (Irma) and Rico (Dena) DeBenedetti, her grandnieces Lauren (Conan) Delucchi Graham, Andrea (Chris) Delucchi Hand, Angelia DeBenedetti, Alyssa (Logan) DeBenedetti Prince, grandnephew Dominic DeBenedetti, great-niece, Madison Graham and sister-in-law Jackie DeBenedetti. She is also survived by loved cousins in Italy. She is predeceased by her husband, Frank “Ernie” Lehmkuhl, parents Pietro and Angela DeBenedetti, and brother, Alex DeBenedetti.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00PM, Monday, November 12, 2018 with a Vigil Service at 7:00PM at Ouimet Bros. Concord Funeral Chapel, 4125 Clayton Road, Concord. Funeral Liturgy will be at 9:30AM, Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at St. Bonaventure Church, 5562 Clayton Road, Concord. Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Lafayette.
