Laura Marilyn Carlson, loving wife and mother and devoted nurse, passed away on Sunday after a courageous battle with several illnesses. Laura was born in Bloomington, IL and graduated from Danvers High School in Danvers, IL. She completed nurses training at St. Luke’s hospital in Chicago, IL. Laura served as a registered nurse for 30 years, the last 22 years at John Muir Concord hospital. She enjoyed reading and hiking in the great outdoors. She volunteered at the Clayton public library and participated in many activities and committees at the Good Shepherd Lutheran church in Concord. Laura is survived by her loving husband of 66 years Joseph; devoted children Joseph (Joe) of Santa Fe NM, Phillip (Phil) of Decatur GA, and Curtis (Curt) of North Potomac MD; and grandchildren Joseph of Flagstaff AZ, Kevin of San Francisco CA, and Elizabeth and Eric of North Potomac MD. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Rosa Lander and brother George Lander. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Sunday May 2, 2021 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 4000 Clayton Rd, Concord CA at 2:30 PM. Burial will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
