LaReine Elaine Chetcuti

LaReine Elaine Chetcuti passed away peacefully at age 65 with family members by her side, after a very brief illness.  She touched many lives with her exceptional gentle loving spirit and strong religious faith in God.  She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, daughter, aunt, mother-in-law, cousin, sister-in-law, and loyal friend.  She will be missed by all.

LaReine was born in The Dalles, Oregon, the youngest child of Lee (dec) and Elaine Strahm.  She is survived by her loving husband, David Chetcuti, of 33 years.  LaReine is also survived by her devoted sons, Joshua and Jeremiah Stephens (Christina), her mother Elaine, brothers Rev. Dr. Richard Strahm (Cheri) of N. Carolina and Steven Strahm of Oregon, grandchildren Lucas, Genevieve, Rachel, Aubrey, Riley, and Connor, along with several cousins and many friends.

LaReine was a homemaker where she took pleasure in watching her sons grow up to be fine men with loving families of their own.  Her delight was bringing happiness to others, often with kind words, unexpected gifts, and pleasant surprises prompted for no particular reason at all other than to simply bring joy.  Her true passion was sharing her life with her husband David, where they were inseparable.  She would spend many enjoyable days being David’s teacher-assistant and administrative coordinator in over 200 seminars. She was well-known and pleasantly interacted with literally thousands of attendees.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 5-8pm on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at Ouimet Bros. Funeral Chapel, 4125 Clayton Rd., Concord, CA 94521 (rosary at 7:00pm followed by open eulogy). Funeral Mass on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 11:00am at St Bonaventure Catholic Church, 5562 Clayton Rd., Concord, CA 94521 with burial at 1:45pm at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 1500 Mission Road, Colma, CA 94014.  Following burial, a celebration of LaReine’s life will be held from 2:30 – 5:00pm at Original Joe’s Westlake Restaurant, 11 Glenwood Ave., Daly City, CA 94015.
