Judith “Judi” Ann Marquez, age 74, of Pacheco, California, passed away in her home on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 3:28pm after battling pancreatic cancer. Judi passed while being surrounded by her daughters and grandchildren, along with her dog, Captain, who never left her side. Judi was born in Columbus, Ohio, on September 10, 1946, to her parents; Betty and George Tibulski. At a young age she moved from Ohio to Concord, California with her mother, stepfather, and siblings: Ronnie, Gene, Terry, Rick, and Beverly. In 1962 Judi married Edward Marquez, where they had three beautiful daughters; Annette, Terri, and Trina. She then became a loving grandmother to; Marc, Niquole, Seth, Kelly, and Keith and great-grandma to Kaleb and Ayla. Judi received her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration in 1984. She later went to work at the ADACCC as a drug and alcohol counselor to help other’s better their lives. She also helped start and run the D.A.R.E. Program. Later in life she went to help out at S.P. Automotive. Judi then retired from there, however that didn’t last long, shortly after, she was back helping out part time. Judi’s enjoyment early in her lifetime was anything cars. She enjoyed rebuilding and going to car shows to show her Hot Rods. Another passion of hers was anything basketball. Whether it was being a season ticket holder court side of every game years ago, or never missing a Warriors game on TV, she was a die hard fan. She never failed to be in the front row of the bleachers at her daughters and then grandchildren’s games. She was truly in love with the game. One of her big achievements, was going back to school and receiving her Bachelor’s degree while raising her three daughters as a single mom. Another major accomplishment she was proud of was being clean and sober for over 40 years.
Funeral services will be held at Ouimet Brothers in Concord, on Friday, June 25th. The viewing is 11am-1pm, with a service following at 1pm. The family is asking everyone to join them in wearing Warriors attire if possible. There will be a Celebration of Life to follow, in which the information will be given at the services.
