Janice Ann Smith

Janice Ann was born to Elmer and Alice Hansen on October 22, 1942; she entered into rest on May 26, 2018 in Clayton. She was raised in Oakland with her three sisters and two brothers and graduated from St. Elizabeth’s High School with the class of 1961. She met the love of her life, Brian Smith in 1957 and they were wed during the torrential rainstorms of 1962. Brian and Jan lived in Oakland, then San Leandro, San Ramon, Walnut Creek and most recently in Clayton – always call the Bay area their home. Brian and Jan had three rambunctious boys and Jan juggled a career in business with her motherly duties. She retired from the work-world as an EKG Tech. for Rossmoor. She enjoyed playing the guitar, painting and bible study, but what she liked most was being a ‘grandma’ to her five grandsons.
Jan is survived by her loving husband Brian Patrick Sr.; her sons Brian Patrick Jr. and Barney (Catherine); her grandsons Josh, Riley, Jordan, Mason and Mitchell; her sisters Marion Disperati (Ramon), Victoria Kazak and Sandra Hanson; numerous in-laws and many nieces and nephews. Janice is preceded in death by her son Patrick Smith; her parents and her brothers Anthony and Dennis Hansen.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00PM, Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Ouimet Bros. Concord Funeral Chapel, 4125 Clayton Road, Concord. Funeral Liturgy will be at 10:00AM, Monday, June 4, 2018 at St. Bonaventure Church, 5562 Clayton Road, Concord. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Lafayette.
