Janet Flower

Our beloved mother, Janet Flower passed away on January 21, 2021.  Janet was born in Chicago, Illinois on 9/24/1941 to Harry and Patricia Flower the first of five children.  The family traveled frequently living in Indiana, Florida,  Blythe and San Pablo, before settling in Concord, California until her death.

Janet graduated from Palo Verde College in Blythe where she enjoyed being Senior Yearbook editor as well as a cheerleader. Janet excelled in verbal and written communication skills and math.

Janet married and had two daughters.  She divorced but found the love and married Timothy Arieta.  Janet never remarried after his death in 1988.

Being a single parent, Janet worked at Fry’s Foods in Concord for over 30 years to support her children.  Never one to stay home, she began a second career as a bookkeeper at her brother Ric’s business.  Janet always poured her heart and soul into working with the public with her fantastic verbal skills, and warm, bubbly personality, spending most of her hard earned money on her children and grandchildren.

Janet was a loving and kind soul, who treated those who crossed her path with genuine interest and sincere concern.

The luckiest ones were her immediate family.  Her generosity and kindness were immeasurable.  She was selfless and loved them unconditionally.  Janet cherished having family gatherings most of all.  Janet also  enjoyed shopping for organic food, and going to movies, dinner, and plays with her daughters.  Janet loved life and loved her family more than anything in the world.  Janet leaves behind two loving daughters, Michele Booth (Gary) and Rhonda Mackey(Dan), four grandchildren (Reagan, Xander, Samuel and Natalie), two adoring brothers David (Linda) and Ric (Maria), sister (Juliet), four nephews and two nieces, and her devoted dog Snickers.  Janet is predeceased by her loving sister Jill and husband Tim.  Janet’s love will be in our hearts forever and our love for her will be eternal.
