James L. Blue 82 years of Brentwood, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017 surrounded by loving family at his home. Born in Non, Oklahoma on Oct. 5, 1935 to the late Gilbert and Ara (Howell) Blue. Jim was a US Army Veteran and was employed by United Grocers – Fleming Foods for 45 years as Director of Warehousing and Transportation. He was an avid golfer, member of the USGA, and a marshal at Diablo Creek Golf Club in Concord.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Donna; daughters Kimberly (Mark) Morucci, Kerri (Mike) Shaffer and Debbie (Skipp) Blue; grandkids Ashley and Austin Shaffer, Haley and Brad Morucci, and Samuel Armson; great grandkids Addison and Holden; sister Jean (Bob) Staffaroni and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017 from 5-8PM at Ouimet Bros. Concord Funeral Chapel 4125 Clayton Rd. Graveside service will be Friday Oct. 27, 2017 at 11:00AM at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA. A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held Saturday. Oct. 28, 2017 from 11AM until 3PM at Diablo Creek Golf Club in Concord.
In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates memorial contributions to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research.
