Enes Tonda Mariani Lonsway

Enes Lonsway, age 90, born in Crockett. First generation native. Her parents Eufrosina and Giuseppe Tonda emigrated from Turin, Italy. Enes graduated from John Swett High School, then received her Nursing Degree at Samuel Merritt College. Her adventurous and caring spirit led her to the University of Hawaii, where she earned a Bachelor’s in Nursing. She raised her family in Novato, sharing with them her love for walking, swimming and traveling the world. Enes worked in a variety of nursing fields, ending her astonishing 45-year career as a Supervising Public Health nurse for Marin County in order to spend more time with her grandchildren. Enes was a beloved member of the Montecito community in Concord and could often be found swimming in the pool, participating in Bible study, and enriching the lives of everyone she met with her canine companion, Stella.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Wallace, four children: Sabrina Mariani (Steven Puccinelli), Alicia Popino (David), Thomas (Karen), Anthony Lonsway, and nine grandchildren, her two brothers Ricardo Tonda and Joseph Tonda (Linda), and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:30AM, Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at St. Bonaventure Church, 5562 Clayton Road, Concord. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, San Pablo.
