Denise Joy Brown

On Thursday, January 19, 2023, Denise Joy Brown; loving wife, mother of two, and grandmother of five, passed away at the age of 70.

Denise Joy Wing was born on June 23, 1952 in Martinez, California to Les and Doris Wing. Denise grew up in Concord, graduated from Concord High School, and attended DVC and Sacramento State College. She was a dental receptionist full or part-time for over 30 years. On March 23, 1974, she married Gary Brown. They raised two sons, Scott and Troy.

Denise enjoyed volunteer work with Clayton Valley Women’s Club, Clayton Valley Little League, and her church, Holy Cross. She enjoyed making cards, playing cards, serving tea, watching sports, and shopping; all with different friends. Denise and Gary loved to spend time in Half Moon Bay, Pismo Beach, Calistoga mineral baths, Kauai, and especially with their grandchildren. She was known for her beautiful smile, positive attitude and great sense of humor. Denise was fun to be around.

Denise was preceded in death by her parents, Les and Doris Wing. She is survived by her husband; Gary, her sons and daughters-in-law; Scott & Kerrie and Troy & Heidi, five grandchildren; Casey, Aidan, Hayden, Jordyn and Teagan, her brother; Dennis, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church at 1092 Alberta Way, Concord, CA 94521 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Denise’s name.
