Concepcion Benitez-Balunsat passed away on December 12, 2021 at the age of 98. She was surrounded by her loved ones.
Concepcion was born in Taal, Batangas on December 8, 1923. She went to St. Brigid School from elementary thru high school. In college, she attended National University in Manila, Philippines wherein she earned a degree as a Pharmacist.
During her college days she met Exequiel Balunsat a Mechanical Engineering Student. After college they got married. They had a daughter and named her Maria Esperanza Gladys.
In 1981, Concepcion came to the United States. Even though she enjoyed being a Pharmacist, she found greater happiness and fulfilment caring for her family.
Concepcion no longer practiced as a Pharmacist and stayed home to care for her family.
Concepcion enjoyed spending time with family, going out to eat at nice restaurants, playing xylophone, drawing in her coloring books, playing dominoes, watching her TV game shows (especially Family Fued with Steve Harvey), and watching dancing with the stars. She liked to stay informed of what was happening in the Philippines and loved her TFC and GMA channels. Concepcion loved Jennifer Aniston but not so much of Angelina Jolie………
Concepcion loved being independent and living in her senior home where she built friends and enjoyed their company during chair exercises and holiday gatherings…..most especially Christmas.
Concepcion is preceded in death by her husband Exequiel Balunsat. She is survived by her daughter Gladys (Julian) and her her grandson Thomas.
