Charlotte R. Garavaglia

January 25, 1933 ~ September 8, 2022 (age 89) 89 Years Old

Tribute

Charlotte Garavaglia passed away peacefully on September 8, 2022 at the age of 89.  Charlotte was born in South Dakota on January 25, 1933, to the late Wilhelmina “Nanny” Clark and Joseph Teitgen. She grew up in Rodeo, CA with her brothers, Morris, Kenneth and Gilford. She met her handsome husband, Raymond, when they were both in third grade, where they went on to become high school sweethearts and soul mates at John Swett High School in Crockett, CA. After high school, they started their life together while Raymond was in the army. They then settled in Berkeley, CA, where she worked at Kaiser Aluminum as a legal secretary until she dedicated her life to being a mom and grandma, living in Walnut Creek.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Raymond Garavaglia, and her brother Kenneth Teitgen.

Charlotte is survived by her son Mark (Christine), daughter Cheryl Miller (Josh), granddaughters Danielle and Allison Pacos (Travis), brothers Morris and Gilford, dear sister-in-law Diana Ghisletta (Tony), and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and auntie, Charlotte was much loved by all of her family and extended family. She was a beautiful woman, both inside and out, who was incredibly kind, and loyal, welcoming one and all with open arms and a huge smile. Throughout her life she held many roles, including the President of the Ladies Guild at Most Precious Blood (St. Francis) Catholic Church, School Librarian, Scout Leader for both Mark and Cheryl, team mom, avid sports fan and bridge player. She loved to travel, cook and socialize with family and friends, and she cherished spending time with her granddaughters, where she never missed a school event, sporting event, performance or recital. Charlotte loved being with her family. To her that was priceless.  Her smile, warm and generous spirit, and love will be missed by all.  We love you dear mom, grandma, sister, auntie, cousin and friend.
