Charlotte Ann (Hudgens) Brown passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 31. She was 77 years old.

Charlotte was born in Taft, CA to Paul Hudgens and Pearl (Crow) Hudgens Ballard in 1944.  After her parents’ divorce when she was a child, she moved around with her mother in several locations including Ventura, Colorado, and Bakersfield, as well as Taft. When she was 19, she met Douglas Brown and they married in Las Vegas on August 11, 1963. She spent the next 50 years as a happy homemaker and formed many interests, including crafts and genealogy. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and looked forward to visits from them. Her health declined in later years, but she still enjoyed time with her family and kept busy with crosswords and word finds.

Charlotte’s husband Douglas preceded her in death in December 2014. She is survived by her three children: Richard Brown of Danville, Robert and (Karen) Brown of Pleasanton, and Jennifer Brown of Concord, as well as her stepdaughter, Judy and (David) White of Manteca, her 8 grandchildren: Russell, Danielle, Gabrielle, Erica, Alicia, Parker, Austin, and Kamryn, her 6 great grandchildren: Melanie, Roxanne, Nolan, Felicity, Jacob, and Leah, and her brother, James Hudgens of Bakersfield.

Charlotte will be laid to rest with her husband Douglas at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Concord, CA. A celebration of life ceremony is planned at a later date yet to be determined.
