Tribute

Carl Edward Cook, after a valiant battle with MDS, passed from this world on August 18, 2023. He was a 54 year resident of Clayton and a member of IBEW Local 302. After graduating from Mt. Diablo High School in 1955 Carl served in the U. S. Army for three years, later joining his father at Walnut Creek Electric. He then entered the IBEW Electrical Program graduating in 1967. He worked as an electrician in Contra Costa Co. for over 30 years, retiring in 1997. He loved his hobbies: AKC Field Trials, field archery, fishing in Alaska, flying his Cessna, scuba diving, skiing, skeet and trap shooting, sky diving, and traveling to four of the major continents. He completed his “Bucket List.” He loved all of his family. Carl is pre-deceased by his parents, Alice Robinson and Robert Harvey Cook Sr., a brother, Robert H. Cook Jr., and grand-nephew Jared Gans. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Judith Nelson Cook, daughter Anna Anderson-Cook (Al) of Brandenton, Fla., brothers: Donald Cook (Madonna), William Cook (Donna), Ronald Cook (Nancy) of Grants Pass, Ore., and sisters: Sue Weaver of Danville, Jennifer Breschi (Craig) of Rocklin, Judi Walsh (Tom) of Ukiah, favorite niece Elaine Gans of Concord, and many other nieces and nephews. His sense of humor and zest for living will be missed by all who knew him. An Interment with family will be held in Sept. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity.
