Anita Marie Wasserburger passed away on November 8, 2018 at her home in Walnut Creek, California,
Anita was born on September 13, 1943 in San Francisco, California to Frank and America Sabalza. She graduated from Presentation High School in San Francisco, California in 1961. She married James P. Wasserburger on April 11, 1964. Together, they had two daughters before settling in Walnut Creek where she has lived for over 40 years.
Anita was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother, and a caring friend who bravely battled Melanoma for 10 years.She retired from a successful career in healthcare benefits. She loved to garden, play the piano, and dance. She also enjoyed traveling with family and friends.
Anita was preceded in death by her husband James and her parents Frank and America. She is survived by her younger sister Rosemarie Scrosati, her daughters Susan Walsh and Linda Reeves, her four grandchildren, and her loving partner Walter Tellis.
A service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 17th at St. Mary’s Church in Walnut Creek. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation at www.melanoma.org.
