Welcome to the memorial page for

Hallie M. Lozano - Higgs

April 25, 2017

Born March 15, 1922, in Nettleton, Arkansas, passed away peacefully, early Tuesday, April 25, 2017. Her loving devoted husband John “Jack” Higgs was at her side at their residence in sunny Escondido, California. Hallie was the youngest of 8 siblings; Leland, Loren, Beryl, Myra, Glenda, Hatton, and Ruth children of Madeline née Halley and Pow Hatton Hamilton all preceding her in death.

Hallie raised 3 sons in West Pittsburg, CA in a small friendly neighborhood on Manor Dr., where life-long friendships were formed. Sadly, her eldest son, Philip E. Lozano and his son, Hallie’s eldest grandson, Philip Eugene Lozano, also preceded her in death.

In 1975 Hallie and Jack married and enjoyed a wonderfully healthy life together. Jack accompanied Hallie fulfilling her dream of visiting Scotland, Ireland, and in the UK visited Jack’s home and his loving family. They enjoyed vacations in Mexico and loved Southern California from the desert to the sea and especially the weather. They both loved gardening. Hallie and Jack hosted all of us in their beautiful home many times.

Hallie was an extremely talented water color artist and her work will be enjoyed by us for time immemorial. She was a compassionate humanitarian whose character we will be lucky to match.

Hallie leaves many of us behind; Spouse, Jack Higgs and our UK family; Jack’s Brother Den (Pat) Higgs, Niece, Pauline née Higgs (Paul) Critcher and son Stuart. Hallie’s sons; Gary Alan (Paula) Lozano and Reginald Hamilton Lozano. Grandchildren; Kristian née Henly-Lozano (Eric) Leseberg, Patrick “Mijo” Lozano, Ginaya née Lozano (Armando ) Coronel, Jessica née Lozano (Gabriel) Cobos, Gary Paul Lozano, Andrew Jack (Cherisse) Lozano, Kathleen Mardell Lozano and blooming bunches of great-grandchildren who all knew and loved their “Grandma Hallie.”
