Deanna G. Petrie

Deanna (Dee) passed away on September 9, 2017 in Concord, after a valiant two-year battle with ovarian cancer.
Dee was born April 30, 1943 in Concord to Robert and Edna Petrie. She is survived by her brother Richard Petrie, sister in-law Joanna, as well as many close friends.
Dee was a proud employee of Contra Costa County for 30 years, having worked as a secretary for the Public Works and General Services departments.
Dee’s love of music was well known to her friends. She had a lovely voice and she enjoyed attending concerts by Dianna Krall and Tony Bennett, just to name a few.
Always an animal lover, as well as an outdoor enthusiast, Dee enjoyed the company of her hiking club and got the chance to visit the Tetons as well as the Grand Canyon with good friend and hiking partner, Colleen Renshaw.
Dee will be greatly missed by many. A true friend with a unending zest for life, she battled cancer with optimism and a courage that remains an inspiration to us all.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Ouimet Bros. Concord Funeral Chapel, 4125 Clayton Rd., Concord at 1:00PM, Friday, November 17, 2017.
