Al Dean Stratton, 77, entered into rest at his daughter’s home on April 4, 2017 in Anderson, CA. He was born November 26, 1939 in Redding, CA to Albert and Lula Stratton. Al was raised in Pacheco and was a 1958 graduate of Pleasant Hill High School. He served in the National Guard for four years. He started his career with Diamond Building Material which became Rhodes and Jamieson, Lone Star and retired in 2000 from RMC in Concord.
He married Barbara Lynn Roberts in 1963. Al and Lyn were longtime residents of Concord where in 1986 they purchased and operated Baskin & Robin’s Ice Cream Parlor on Clayton Road, Concord. They moved to Antioch in 1997. Al was a generous man to a fault, very straight forward and larger the life!
Al is survived by his children Michael Stratton (Nicole), Suzanne Lobsinger (Raymond) and Nikki Chapman; grandchildren Ashley, Katelynn, Austin, Zachery, Alexis, Sierra, Jade, Jacob, Jasmine, Jamie and Jordan.
Al was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Barbara Lynn Stratton in 2008 and siblings Robert Stratton, Bonnie Stratton, Fred Stratton, Mark Stratton, Reba Stewart and Alberta Boeger.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00PM, Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Ouimet Bros. Concord Funeral Chapel, 4125 Clayton Rd., Concord. The Funeral Service will be at 11:00AM, Thursday, April 13, 2017 also at the Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice, 1544 Market St., Redding, CA 96001.
